Senior Adults

For those young at heart (60+).

Find Fellowship at Calvary

Our Seniors are a lively crowd of artists, grandparents, travelers, singers, and more who join us weekly for 10am Sunday worship services or raise a ruckus at Senior Tuesdays. You are a welcomed addition to our happy band. You do not have to be a member of Calvary or espouse a religious tradition in order to participate wholeheartedly.

Senior Tuesdays

On the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, we hold special programming for Seniors (60+). If you're 18+, you are also welcome to join if you're interested in what we have going on! Most Senior Tuesday participants are not members of Calvary. All are welcome to find community here.

The 2nd Tuesday is usually a special presentation with topics like art, culture, music, safety, or health. 2nd Tuesday programs are followed by a soup and salad lunch for $5. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

The 4th Tuesday is a bring-your-own-lunch fellowship hour where Seniors are invited to eat and hang out. Currently, 4th Tuesdays include Tai Chi and oftentimes a volunteer service project.

During summer months, we hold two matinee screenings of popular movies, with popcorn.

Come at 11am on our Senior Tuesdays and check out our awesome Calvary Seniors Program!

Pastoral & Spiritual Care

Rev. Victor H. Floyd is our Minister for Spiritual Care. He makes hospital visits and checks in with those who are homebound or are experiencing a tough patch. If you would like to come by the church for prayer or a spiritual care sit-down visit, please email Rev. Victor at victorfloyd@calpres.org

If you or someone you know is hospitalized or in need of spiritual support, please be sure to check in with Rev. Victor (or any of our pastors) so that we may connect you with essential support and resources.

Senior Tuesdays! Tuesday, January 13, 2026 11:00 am - 2:00 pm - We start out the new year of Calvary Senior Adults with two programs!
11am: “Moving Days”, with Woody LaBounty of San Francisco Heritage
In 1974, the nonprofit San Francisco Heritage negotiated with the city to purchase, relocate, restore, and find buyers for a dozen 19th century Victorian buildings slated for demolition by the Redevelopment Agency.  Woody LaBounty, President and CEO of SF Heritage, will tell us the story of this first major project by the organization and how it typifies the organization’s approach to the preservation and public appreciation of San Francisco’s special and beautiful places.
Lunch served at 12pm: Soup and salad ($5 suggested donation)
12:45pm: Ruthe Stein previews ‘Mostly British”
After lunch, stay for our second program, as Ruthe Stein returns to present a preview, including movie trailers, for this year’s Mostly British Film Festival, coming up in February. This has become a regular feature of Calvary Seniors, and we always seem to enjoy seeing clips from films that may not ever show in the US other than at this festival. We’ll conclude by about 1:45pm.
If you’re sixty plus and interested in joining the Calvary Senior Adults mailing list for information about upcoming programs, please contact Laine Clifford or Marion Stanton at seniors@calpres.org.

Author Talk - VIGIL with
GEORGE SAUNDERS
Monday, Feb. 2, 2026 • 7pm • $34 + fees, includes book
At Calvary Presbyterian Church • 2515 Fillmore Street, San Francisco

In partnership with Book Passage, we are absolutely honored to welcome the acclaimed George Saunders to Calvary Presbyterian for a special evening celebrating the release of his much-anticipated new book, Vigil: A Novel.
With the wisdom, playfulness, and explosive imagination we’ve come to expect, George Saunders takes on the gravest issues of our time—the menace of corporate greed, the toll of capitalism, the environmental perils of progress—and, in the process, spins a tale that encompasses life and death, good and evil, and the thorny question of absolution.
We look forward to seeing you for a memorable evening!

FAQs

  • What are annual dues?

While most of the Senior programming costs are covered by Calvary, we ask Seniors to contribute $10 per annual year as their membership due as a gracious gift to help offset additional costs. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

  • Can I be a presenter?

We've had professional musicians, authors, artists, and more find Senior Tuesdays as a fun, volunteer speaking engagement. Calvary will promote your name around the church and on social media. Send us a message and we'll let you know!
