Seeking Liaison to Raphael House

Looking for a way to lift up the full humanity of all God’s children? Join Calvary’s Faith in Action team by serving as the Raphael House Liaison. Raphael House is one of Calvary’s Matthew 25 Partners for Change. The RH Liaison is in regular contact with Raphael House staff about volunteer opportunities and also attends monthly Faith in Action Meetings to collaborate with other Matthew 25 Partners for Change liaisons and the FIA committee. Throughout COVID-19 this partnership has been largely virtual, but as restrictions lift you can anticipate coordinating volunteers for three Family Parties (Halloween, Spring Carnival, 4th of July) and once-a-month Community Chef Nights. Each liaison completes an Annual Evaluation of Calvary’s relationship with RH that outlines the years’ volunteer activities and impact. Interested? Please contact Mary Kate Wheeler at mkwheeler09@gmail.com or Robin Morjikian at robinmorjikian@calpres.org.

Time Commitment: Approximately 4-6 hours a month

Raphael House provides transitional housing and a full program of support for families experiencing homelessness. Their mission is to help families achieve stable housing and financial independence while strengthening family bonds and personal dignity.  Calvary volunteers help prepare and serve dinners for the families staying at Raphael House, organize special events, tutor children, help with facility upgrade projects, and fill many other roles.
