We’re Making a Joyful Noise…with New Hymnals!
Calvary has adopted the new Presbyterian Hymnal, Glory to God. We will begin using them in worship on Sunday, February 12.
Since its release, the Glory to God hymnal has received accolades from musicians, pastors, worship scholars, and congregants from various mainline denominations. A few highlights:
- Over 800 hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs from various historical and contemporary genres.
- Approximately 50% of the hymns will be from the 1990 hymnal, with the remaining selections coming from former Presbyterian hymnals, other denominational songbooks, and individual authors and composers.
- Music covering all major historical and contemporary sacred genres, including approximately thirty-five African American/Gospel hymns.
- Music from six different continents.
Dedicate a Hymnal
Calvary members and friends are invited to dedicate new hymnals in memory of/in honor of someone special for $25 each, which includes a dedication bookplate.
Ways to Contribute
Online: Complete the form below.
Sundays: place a form found in the worship bulletin and a check payable to Calvary Presbyterian Church with a notation “new hymnal dedication” in the offering plate.
Mail: Return dedication form with your check to the church, attention: Rachel Wolf
