The Women of Calvary Bible Study

The Women of Calvary Bible Study meets via Zoom on the third Thursday of the month from 6 – 7:15 pm beginning September 21. Please contact Rev. Joann Lee for the Zoom information (joannlee@calpres.org). This year’s study is Sacred Encounters: The Power and Presence of Jesus Christ in Luke-Act by Olive Mahabir.

This study invites readers to consider Jesus through his sacred encounters with everyday people. The Gospel According Luke-Acts “one story in two parts,” demonstrates the unfolding of God’s redemptive purposes in human history and presents a distinctive perspective on the person and work of Jesus Christ. Written by Luke, a physician and traveling companion of Paul, the message to the early Christian community (and to us) is radical, inclusive, and hope-filled. Further, this message invites the church to deeper, compassionate engagement with the world.

We will hold a light outdoor brunch on Sunday, August 27 at 11:15 am to distribute books and greet each other in person. Please come, fellowship, and learn about the study topic!

Please join us for this study whether you’re new to Bible Study or have participated in this study for years. Bible Study Books are $10, but please do not let cost be a hinderance – scholarships are available!
