Senior Adult Tuesday Program

September 26 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Qi Gong and Tai Chi with Cal Chinn and Norma Chan

Come and learn about Qi Gong and Tai Chi exercise!

Rev. Cal Chinn will be introducing Qi Gong. Qi means “energy” and Gong means “work”. So Qi Gong means the exercise of your body’s energy, enhancing fitness of mind and body, developing vitality, and relieving stress.

Norma Fong Chan will be introducing Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a martial art but our focus will be more for health. We will be exploring beginning exercises “Nine Pearls”, moving our joints, along with coordinating our feet, waist and hands together to help the energy or “chi” in our body to flow. It is an effective way to develop balance for body, mind and spirit.

Both Cal and Norma actually began their study with the same Tai Chi teacher in the beginning years of their practice. Cal has been focused on his practice of Qi Gong in recent years. Norma has been studying Tai Chi (Taijiquan) for over 15 years. She has also been teaching Tai Chi for a few years. Having suffered different injures through the years, she has experienced how healing tai chi can be with slow consistent practice to build back strength and balance. She enjoys sharing this art for better health — especially for Seniors. Adults of all ages are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

*Bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy after the class. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Please Note: Masks and vaccination proof are no longer required. If you are not feeling well, please stay home until you feel better.

If this is your first time at Seniors, please plan to arrive early to register. If you’re sixty plus and interested in joining the Calvary Senior Adults mailing list for information about upcoming programs, please contact Marion Stanton at seniors@calpres.org.
