Come home to Calvary
The Calvary Racial Equity Initiative and the Adult Education teams invite you to join us for a special Coffee Hour to celebrate Juneteenth! There will be food, activities, education, and fellowship.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond. Juneteenth is a time for celebration and rejoicing, as well as a time for reflecting on our country’s tangled history and what our dreams for equality might be now. Join us as we come together to celebrate freedom and the end of officially sanctioned slavery in the United States.
