An event every week that begins at 9:00am on Sunday, repeating until October 28, 2018
Beginning Sunday, September 23 from 9 to 9:50 am, Lindsey Brown and Doug Person will lead weekly Centering Prayer sessions in the Lounge for anyone interested in practicing this discipline with a small community group at Calvary.
The spiritual practice of Centering Prayer is a simple method to quiet our minds and bring us into the great Interior Silence, where our intent is to be present to God. There are no elaborate props, no credentials required, only a willingness and desire to sit down comfortably in a quiet environment, close your eyes and consent to the presence of God within. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship.
An Adult Education class on Centering Prayer will be offered on Sunday, September 16 in the Library Lounge from 11:30 am-12:30 pm where you can learn more about this practice. But feel free to join us even if you miss the introductory class and/or even if you’ve never practiced Centering Prayer before. Each session will begin with a brief introduction. All are welcome.
