Join other young adults at Calvary in reading and discussing Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson. Just Mercy is a true story about a young a lawyer seeking justice and mercy in our legal system. It lifts up the potential for mercy to redeem us, and it is a call to fix our broken system.
As Stevenson says in a TED talk, “We will ultimately not be judged by our technology, we won’t be judged by our design, we won’t be judged by our intellect and reason. Ultimately, you judge the character of a society . . . by how they treat the poor, the condemned, the incarcerated.” Even if you aren’t able to finish the book, all young adults are welcome to attend the discussion in the Library Lounge on Thursday, April 26th at 6:30pm.
The CYA (Calvary Young Adults) is a fellowship group for those in their 20’s & 30’s. Young adults of all ages, orientations, and stages (married & unmarried, single & unsingle) are welcome! For more information please contact us at Calvarysf.firstname.lastname@example.org.
