Centering Prayer as a Small Faith Community
On September 16 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Calvary Library Lounge, Elder Doug Person will lead an introduction to the spiritual practice of Centering Prayer — a simple method to quiet our minds and bring us into the great Interior Silence, where our intent is to be present to God. There are no elaborate props, no credentials required, only a willingness and desire to sit down comfortably in a quiet environment, close your eyes and consent to the presence of God within. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship.
And beginning on Sunday, September 23 from 9 to 9:50 am, Lindsey Brown and Doug Person will continue to lead weekly Centering Prayer sessions in the Garden Room for anyone interested in continuing to practice this discipline with a small faith community at Calvary, prior to worship.
