Are you a young adult in your 20’s and 30’s?
The CYA (Calvary Young Adult) group offers a number of activities, focusing on the following areas: Bible Study – to feed your soul, Mission & Outreach – to feed others’, and Social Activities – which includes activities to feed your stomach.
Young adults of all ages, orientations, and stages (married & unmarried, single & unsingle) are welcome!

Mission and Outreach
If there’s a volunteering activity you like, we probably have a service offering planned during the year. We volunteer with Calvary’s partners in the Matthew 25 Partners for Change initiative, including Raphael House (where we’ve organized group birthday parties for the kids staying there) and the Boys & Girls Club (with tutoring and coaching). We also regularly volunteer at the Martin de Porres soup kitchen and with Habitat for Humanity.
In November 2018 CYA attended a mission trip to the border in Nogales, Mexico. We hope to hold more opportunities for short-term mission service in this country and abroad.
Social
Spending time to get to know other young adults at Calvary is important, and towards that end we host a monthly happy hour on the third Wednesday of each month, picking a different bar in neighborhoods throughout the city. We have been known to enjoy a good picnic brunch in Alta Park after service Sunday. And we try to organize additional fellowship opportunities throughout the year, such as our annual Christmas Party, to fun group running events (everyone needs something to train for!) as well as the church offsite to Mt. Hermon in the Santa Cruz Mountains or ski trips to Tahoe.

Bible Study and Faith Formation
The Young Adults is a caring community, and we plan regular Bible studies (either church-wide or exclusive-to-CYA) and also book clubs. These meet-up’s serve as forums for young adults to share where and how they have responded to God’s call, and how they live out their faith in their day to day lives.
