Child Safety Policy at Calvary

(content warning: abuse, church misconduct)

Calvary Presbyterian Church seeks to provide a safe and supportive environment for the children and youth who participate in our ministries and activities. We know that all institutions, including the church, are at risk and have the capacity to perpetuate great harm through incidents of misconduct and inappropriate behavior. As such, we have a Child Protection Policy in place that helps keep us accountable and vigilant in keeping those who are the most vulnerable among us as safe as possible.  By implementing the practices outlined in our Child Protection Policy, our goal is to protect the children of our church while also educating and protecting our staff and volunteers. Anyone who works with our children and youth must undergo an in-person interview and application process, read and sign our Child Protection Policy, and submit to a criminal background check.
Calvary Presbyterian Church will not tolerate any form of child abuse. We will respond to allegations of abuse in a swift and compassionate manner.
