Part-Time Childcare Team Supervisor

Position Summary: A Part-Time position, reporting to the Director of Children’s Ministries, supervising children ages 0-9 years (averages between 25 – 50 children) and a childcare team of up to 13 people; 4 – 6 hours per week on Sundays from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm at $18 per hour with occasional additional hours.

Requirements:

~ Fluent in English
~ At least one year of childcare experience with infants and toddlers
~ A demonstrated passion for working with children and youth
~ Courses and/or experience in Early Childhood Education
~ At least 12 units in Early Childchood Education or Child Development, including infant/toddler unit, is desirable
~ Current (Infant/Child and/or Adult (if working with youth) CPR, AED and First Aid certification is desirable
~ Friendly and professional demeanor
~ Enthusiastic and positive attitude
~ Ability to work well as part of a team
~ Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisory staff
~ Demonstrating initiative to generate ideas contributing to the curriculum: crafts, games, stories
~ Keeping confidentiality when parents or childcare team express personal concerns or when handling check in/out personal information from the database
~ Tdap immunization and updated immunizations (within the last 5 years) to prevent spread to or contracting Pertussis/Whooping Cough from infants
~ Cleared TB test (tuberculin skin test)
~ LiveScan fingerprinting (coming soon)
~ All candidates must comply with all Calvary Presbyterian Church policies regarding employment questionnaires, references, and background checks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

~ Manage and supervise childcare team of 12 plus people
~ Ability to teach children 0 – 9 years
~ Co-lead morning and afternoon team meetings with Ddirector
~ Continue teambuilding efforts
~ Relay information about children from parents to childcare team or to Director
~ Understand and help greeters with the check in/check out process
~ Articulate the weekly Sunday Studio plan to childcare team and parent volunteers
~ Initiative on set-up and clean-up (most childcare team members know what to do)
~ Give director the weekly time-sheet and the new registration forms
~ Work with Childcare team to plan monthly birthday/special occasions (during work hours)
~ Step in during Director’s absence
